The Bronze Island was once the capital of the great empire, stretching from the shores of the Dominion to distant Scarrport. Now it is a small island kingdom living in the memories of its former greatness; a memory burnt into the line of Bronze Dragon kings for which the island is named. The current King of the Bronze Island, Xyphreneus, is particularly tormented by the history of his people. Being roughly one thousand years of age, Xyphreneus was a Wyrmling when the sun began to set on the Bronze Island’s might in the face of the rising Dominion. Little by little, their territories fell into chaos and war before finally becoming independent fiefdoms, Dominion holdings or else ruins. Watching his betters fall to violence or sorrow; Xyphreneus has been resistant to the Dominions urges for the Bronze Island to declare the island a territory. Such is Xyphreneus’ hatred for the Dominion that he has become something of a friend to pirates, turning a blind eye to their activities lest they prey on his ships.
The Bronze War
In the year -4 the Elf King Naxos Milus I of Anteivan embarked on a plan of conquest, hoping to seize all of Terranor with the support of King Darius of the Bronze Isand. At the height of its power, Darius used pretense of alliance as a ruse to allow his army access to Anteivan; quickly conquering the Elf kingdom and draw its forces into his own. This action caused panic amongst the kingdoms of Terranor, prompting the formation of the Eight-Nation Alliance. Though fighting was effectively stalemated from the years 33 through 36, renewed efforts by the Eight-Nation Alliance and Anteivan resistance fighters in particular eventually saw Bronze-forces finally ejected from Terranor.
