Fabled flying island of the Aireomancers; thought to be a myth. However, as Ruggo the Red told The Party during their quest for Xhisp; thousands of years ago in the Feywild, Gnomes where enslaved in the flying city of Xhisp. While most Gnomes did menial labour an elite was cultivated and trained as Artificers, their labour kept the city in the sky for their Eladrin masters. Eventually staging a rebellion, the Gnomes sabotaged Xhisp and sent the city crashing into the ground, using the confusion to escape to Deluge. Since that day, Xhisp’s exact crash site has been largely forgotten and forgotten (except for the Gnome King Ruggo the Red and his inner circle who knows of Xhisp, its actual location and the sporadic portal that opens from there to Deluge – a remnant of the one the Gnomes used to enter this Sphere), though its technology remains, and the Goblin Kingdom of Nachtur) has enveloped it. Needless to say, the Eladrin who once lived in Xhisp left, and left the area – founding a new city-state on the edge of Nachtur known as Meisasin, known for its fine Artificers and wondrous machinery.
Gnome Kings did, however, feel the need to check up on Xhisp from time to time. They inscribed the secret of the portal in a riddle on a map, and divided the map into pieces. Whoever found and assembled the map the Gnome King would approach with an offer of journeying to Xhisp in exchange for renewed information of what lay beyond.
